Charlie Frank Stuart

The soul of Charlie Frank Stuart, of Wesson, passed from thisworld into eternal rest on Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, at his residence.Mr. Stuart was 88 years of age and a lifelong resident of CopiahCounty. He was a member of Sweetwater United Methodist Church inWesson. During his life, he worked as a longtime employee of theEdward Hyman Company in Hazlehurst, served as a deputy of theCopiah County Sheriff’s Department, as a security officer ofCopiah-Lincoln Community College, and as the owner of a ruralcommunity grocery.
An honored U.S. Army World War II combat veteran, devoted husband,and beloved father, he was preceded in death by his father, mother,four brothers, and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Winifred Stuart; hisson, Charlie Frank Stuart Jr., and wife, Ann Kimble-Stuart; hisdaughter, Sue Stuart-Davis and husband, Dean; his grandson, LandonStuart; his granddaughters, Shannon Stuart-Thompson and husband,Chance, Chynna Davis, and Christal Davis; his great-grandson, VanceThompson; his great-granddaughters, Harmonie Thompson and EmmaThompson; by William R. (Billy) King, loved and forever counted asa brother; and by many of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Visitations and offerings of respect are to be held at RiverwoodFamily Funeral Service in Brookhaven from 5 until 9 p.m. on Monday,Aug. 16, and at First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst from 10 a.m.until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 17.
Funeral services will take place Tuesday at 2 p.m. at First BaptistChurch of Hazlehurst. Graveside service and interment will followat Sweetwater United Methodist Church Cemetery.
