Funeral services for Becky Black Morgan, 58, of Charleston,S.C., and formerly of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 22, atRiverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel.

Visitation was Saturday from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeralhome.

She died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010. She was born on Aug.15, 1952, inGreenville, to AG and Rosalind Black.

Becky graduated with honors from Brookhaven High School in 1970.She attended Samford University in Birmingham, Ala., where she wasa cheerleader and a member of Chi Omega Sorority. In 1973, Beckywas crowned Mississippi’s Miss Hospitality.

A retired teacher, Becky was known as a strong advocate forchildren who needed extra attention. She exemplified everything ateacher should be and was praised by students and faculty. After 25years as an educator, Becky retired to spend more time with herfamily. Becky cherished her role as a grandmother.

She is survived by her parents, AG and Rosalind Black, ofBrookhaven; her husband, Randall Morgan, of Charleston, S.C.; hersons, David Morgan, of Radford, Va., and Philip Morgan, ofBirmingham; her daughter, Michelle Morgan Staub and husband, Aaron,of Augusta, Ga.; her grandchildren, Brenton and Kayla Grace Staub,of Augusta; and her sister, Patricia Black Allen, ofBrookhaven.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made tothe American Heart Association in honor of Becky.
