Lady Cats tame Tigers

BOGUE CHITTO – The Bogue Chitto Lady Cats captured two varsitygames Saturday from the McComb Lady Tigers. In the first game, BCshut out McComb 3-0 and in the final game the Lady Cats cruised toa 7-1 victory over the Tigers in slowpitch softball action.
“Our players did a very good job today,” said BC head coach ScottLeggett. “We hit the ball very well.”
Bogue Chitto will host the Brookhaven Lady Panthers Tuesday night.The Junior varsity will start the action at 5 p.m. followed by thevarsity at 6 p.m.

Kerri McGehee provided a strong pitching performance in theshutout, collecting two strikeouts and allowing one walk.
Leyton Terrell was the losing pitcher for McComb with no strikeoutsand no walks.
Adrienne Wallace and Darcy Miller lead the offensive attack withtwo singles apiece. Hitting safely were Mattie Avants, JosiePorter, Rheagan Welch, Toy Smith, Alexis Givens and KaylieCrosby.
The Tigers got singles from Desiree Mallery and BreannTalbert.

McGehee picked up the victory for Bogue Chitto, collecting nostrikeouts and allowing one walk.
Leyton Terrell absorbed the loss. She had no strikeouts and threewalks.
Bradi Davis led Cats with three singles. Wallace, Porter and Millercontributed two singles apiece. Hitting safely were McGehee,Givens, Smith and Avants.
Lauren Mabile and Breann Talbert led McComb’s offense with twosingles apiece. Hitting safely were Raneka Felder, Mallery andTerrell.
