Wiley Lamar Bullard

Wiley Lamar Bullard, 83, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, at his homeafter a brief illness.
Born in Elba, Ala., he graduated from the University of Alabama in1950 with a degree in industrial engineering. He served his countryin the United States Navy during World War II and accepted aregular United States Army commission in the Corps of Engineers,primarily in Germany. Retired from the apparel industry, he movedfrom Brookhaven to Memphis, Tenn., in 1995.
He leaves his wife, Joan Semmes Bullard; two sons, Michael (Joyce)of Clinton, and Chris (Roberta) of Winston-Salem, N.C.; twograndsons, Mark Bullard, of Memphis, and John Bullard, of Clinton;two great-grandsons; a brother, Robert Bullard, of Elba; and twostepchildren, Vicki Baird (Rob) and the Rev. John Semmes(Cynthia).
Visitation is 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 10, at Canale Funeral Directorsin Memphis, followed by a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. with theRev. Dr. Steve Montgomery officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Idlewild PresbyterianChurch, 1750 Union Avenue, Memphis, TN 38104; the Church HealthCenter, 1210 Peabody Avenue, Memphis, TN 38104; or a charity of thedonor’s choice.
