Graveside services for Wiley Lamar Bullard will be held at 2p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6, at Riverwood Memorial Park in Brookhaven.Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge ofarrangements.
A United States Veteran, Lamar Bullard, 83, died Wednesday, Sept.8, 2010, at his home in Memphis, Tenn., after a briefillness.
Born in Elba, Ala., he graduated from the University of Alabama in1950 with a degree in industrial engineering. He served his countryin the United States Navy during World War II, and accepted aregular Army commission in the Corps of Engineers, primarily inGermany. Retired from the apparel industry, Lamar moved fromBrookhaven, to Memphis in 1995.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Murdock Bullard.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Semmes Bullard; two sons, Michaeland wife Joyce, of Clinton, Chris and wife Roberta, ofWinston-Salem, N.C.; two grandsons, Mark Bullard, of Memphis, andJohn Bullard, of Clinton; two great-grandsons, Mason MichaelBullard and Sebastian Parker Bullard; a brother Robert Bullard, ofElba; and his stepchildren, Vicki Baird and husband Rob, ofMemphis, and the Rev. John Semmes and wife, Cynthia, ofOxford.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Idlewild PresbyterianChurch, 1750 Union Ave., Memphis, TN 38104; The Church HealthCenter, 1210 Peabody Ave., Memphis, TN 38104; or a charity of thedonor’s choice.
