Vaughn honored for funeral home service

Helping families during times of greatest need and being bytheir side in a moment’s notice are just two of Julius “Peck”Vaughn’s qualities.

Vaughn, 88, has recently received honor and recognition for his 50years of commitment to the funeral service industry.

Riverwood Family Funeral Service gave tribute to Vaughn by givinghim a plaque and naming the visitation suite in his name.

“He’s just a man who loves to be a servant for people,” said ClayMcMorris, funeral service director. “It’s just an honor for us tobe able to do this.”

Vaughn has been serving as assistant funeral director at thefuneral home for the past seven years.

When he is not at the funeral home, he is contributing his servicesto Macedonia Baptist Church and Habitat for Humanity.

“He always loves to help people,” said McMorris. “That’s why he’sbeen doing it all these years.”
