Bears win Lincoln Round-Robin

BOGUE CHITTO – Senior guard Jay Case sacked 22 points in theleading the West Lincoln Bears to a 91-51 Saturday night winagainst Enterprise and claiming the 2010 Lincoln County Round-RobinTournament title. Case was joined in double figures as Dee Pricescored 18 points, Jared Case 13, Maurice Jackson 12 and LucasBurris 10.

In the girls game, West Lincoln edged Enterprise 50-46 as KarliHerrington and Marissa Pruski scored 13 points apiece for the LadyBears in R.L. “Bob” Calhoun Gymnasium. Tamasha Buckley added 10points to the win.

West Lincoln plays its last games before the Christmas break Mondaynight at North Pike. Tipoff begins at 5 p.m. with a junior varsityboys game.

The unbeaten Bears (13-0) beat Enterprise for the third time thisseason and they sacked 13 treys in the victory. They led the YellowJackets 56-27 at halftime.

On the backboards, Logan King had 6 rebounds. Burris had 5 boards.Jared Case made 6 assists. Jay Case had 4 assists plus 3steals.

“We had a good first quarter and shot the ball real good,” saidYoung. “We came out fast and really got after it.”

The last time for the Bears to win the round-robin was 2007. LoydStar had won the last two years.

“West Lincoln couldn’t miss,” said Enterprise coach John Knight.”They were hot.”

Thomas Allen scored 22 points and Sam Furr 13 for the Jackets. Furralso had 5 rebounds. Allen made 3 assists and 6 steals.

The Lady Bears (8-5) avenged two previous setbacks.

“I told our seniors this was the last time they would play in thecounty tournament and the last time to play Enterprise,” said CoachYoung. ” I’m proud of our girls. They played really hard and gave agood effort.”

On the backboards, Katie Mullins grabbed 7 rebounds. Buckley had 5boards. Herrington made 5 assists as WL carried a 33-32 lead intothe fourth quarter.

Enterprise got 13 points from Veonka Sanders and 12 from Karla BethHux. Caroleah Brister added 11.
