Funeral services for Carl S. Rutland, of Jayess, are 11 a.m. onThursday, Dec. 16, at Forest Grove Methodist Protestant Church inJayess, with burial in the church cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home inMonticello is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Wednesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home,and on Thursday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of theservice.
Mr. Rutland, 73, died Dec. 12, 2010, at his residence. He was bornin Lawrence County on Nov. 26, 1937, to John Thomas Rutland andRosie Alice King Rutland.
He was the owner of Rutland Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. Hewas a longtime church leader and member of Forest Grove MethodistProtestant Church. He served in the United States Air Force duringpeacetime. He was a member of the Monticello Masonic Lodge, andCopiah-Lincoln Community College Institute of Higher Learning inretirement.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, PeggyNewell Rutland; four brothers and two sisters.
Survivors are his wife, Marilyn Hinton Rutland; his sons, Keith S.Rutland and Tommy E. Rutland, both of Jayess; his daughter, AllisonRutland and Kenny Platt of Jayess; his brothers, Harvey Rutland ofAlexandria, La., Paul Denver Rutland of Jacksonville, Ark., andHarold S. Rutland of Monticello; his sister, Elner Rose RutlandFuller of Jayess; and six grandchildren.
