Funeral services for Dan B. Furr Jr., of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.on Thursday, Jan. 6, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel on NatchezDrive, with burial in Easthaven Cemetery in Brookhaven.

Visitation is Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Furr, 75, died Jan. 4, 2011, at his residence. He was bornin Lincoln County on Nov. 12, 1935. He married his wife, Barbara L.Furr, on June 16, 1957.

He was owner and operator of Electric Motor Sales and PumpRepair for 40 years, and was well known to the community for fixingtheir water well pumps and “getting them water.” He was a Mason andmember of Fair River Lodge No. 203. He was a member of EasthavenBaptist Church in Brookhaven. He was a loving husband, father andgrandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family andfriends.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Dan B. Furr Sr. andInez Chutz Furr; his son, Randy Furr; and his father-in-law, CarmonLester.

Survivors are his wife of more than 53 years, Barbara L. Furr ofBrookhaven; his daughters, Katrina “Tina” Pickett and husbandEddie, and Sandra Furr, all of Brookhaven; his grandchildren,Allyson Pickett McDonnieal and husband Grant, of New Hebron, andChase Pickett of Brookhaven; his sisters, Geneva Rainey and husbandDewey, of Terry, Jody Ward and daughter, Deb of Jackson; hismother-in-law, Lois Lester; and a host of nieces, nephews and otherrelatives.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Ministriesin Brookhaven.
