Bogue Chitto teams defeat MSD

BOGUE CHITTO – The Bogue Chitto Lady Cats (15-1, 2-0) capturedtheir second Region 7-1A win as the Lady Cats cruised over theMississippi School of the Deaf Lady Bulldogs 72-20 Thursday nightat R.L “Bob” Calhoun Gymnasium.
In the boys’ game, the Bobcats (11-5, 2-0) remained perfect inregion play by crushing the Bulldogs 74-22.
The Lady Cats and Bobcats resume action Saturday as they travel toface Wesson. There will be two junior varsity games beginning at 2p.m. The varsity girls’ game will start at 5 p.m. followed by theboys.
Bogue Chitto 72, MSD 20
Senior guard Aneshia Dillon pumped in a game-high 13 points to leadthe Lady Cats. Mattie Avants contributed 12 points and collected 4steals. Earineshia Dillon was the leader on the boards with 9rebounds.
“I am glad everyone got some playing time,” said BC Coach ChristiTerrell. “Our junior varsity squad was able to get some valuableminutes in a varsity game. We had a very good first quarter, we didnot miss a shot.”
Shardee Bridges was the leader in scoring for the Lady Bulldog(0-16, 0-2) with 12 points.
“This was a good game with great sportsmanship,” said MSD firstyear girls coach Laura Rushing. “Our girls played really hard, butwe are a really young team. Bogue Chitto has a very goodteam.”
Bogue Chitto 74, MSD 22
Senior forward Javier Gee knocked down 9 points to lead theBobcats. Darrius Martin, Emmanuel Magee and Brock Roberts provided8 points apiece.
“I am proud that everyone got some playing time,” said JeremyHarrell.
Kameron Lane was the top scorer for the Bulldogs with 7points.
“The guys played really hard,” said MSD boys coach Kevin Cronin.”This team is very young but they are willing to learn to betterthemselves.”
