Funeral services for Lessie Bales Waldon, of Brookhaven, are 2p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15, at Riverwood Family Funeral ServiceChapel, with burial in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery inBrookhaven.

Visitation is Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Waldon, 91, died Jan. 11, 2011, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center in McComb. She was born in Mississippi onJan. 3, 1920, to James Prentice Bales and Mary Jane Stockton.

She was a supervisor with the Potter Company in Wesson. Sheenjoyed quilting and gardening, but most of all, she enjoyedspending time with her family. She was a member of Mt. Zion BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents, James and Mary JaneBales; her husband, Floyd Waldon; her grandchildren, Karen Lea andAlan Lofton; and her son-in-law, William Lea.

Survivors are her daughters, Annette Lea of Houma, La., andGeraldine Waldon of Las Cruces, N.M.; “the son she never had,”Charles Waldon and wife Nita; her grandchildren, Randy Lea, MikeLea, Timmy and Fran Lea, Jon and Agnes Lofton, Daniel and CarrieLofton; her eight great-grandchildren; her sisters-in-law, HelenBales and Marlene Bales; and numerous nieces and nephews.
