Elie Jewitte E.J. Mason, 72, of Jayess, died Wednesday, Jan. 12,2011, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center inMcComb.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 17, 2011,at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello. Burial will be in DivideMethodist Protestant Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 3 until 9 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 16, atthe funeral home.

He was a member of the Jayess Masonic Lodge. He retired as a SMSGTin the United States Air Force after 24 years in 1981 and retiredfrom the U.S. Postal Service after 16 years in 2000. He was amember of Divide Methodist Protestant Church and LIR presentpresident.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James F.B. Mason andLettie Bowman Mason; and his brother, Benjamine Mason.

Survivors are his wife, Barbara Ann Seymour Mason, of Monticello;two sons, Perry Eugene, of Sicily, Italy, and Troy Mason ofLouisville, Ky.; two sisters, Bessie Mae Russell, of Monticello,and Amelia Ann Jarvis, of Kennesaw, Ga.; two grandsons; and onegranddaughter.
