I will enter his gates with Thanksgiving in my heart, I willenter his courts with praise. On January 17, 2011, Lillie WalkerAllen entered into those gates.

She was born to Ollie Walker and Minnie Britt Walker on February11, 1921. She was one of 10 children. This could have easily beenwhere she learned one of life’s greatest lessons – enjoy the simplepleasures of this life. She attended Loyd Star School.

She held many titles in her life: daughter, sister, wife, mother, momow and great-grandmother. She earned these titles by living bythis verse. “She looketh well to the ways of her household andeateth not the bread of idleness.” – Proverbs 31:27. A most fittingdescription of a woman who worked not only in the home, but outsidethe home as well. She was a retired visitors’ clerk for King’sDaughters Hospital. This was a job, but one that she enjoyed. Sheloved the interaction with both visitors and employees of thehospital, and for an added bonus she worked with her husbandthere.
