Bobcats sweep MSD

JACKSON – Bogue Chitto made the trip to the Capital CityThursday night and picked up a pair of Region 7-1A wins over theMississippi School for the Deaf. The Lady Cats shot 60 percent fromthe floor, helping them to an 84-25 win over the LadyBulldogs.
The Bobcats scored 31 points off of 20 Bulldogs turnovers to authora 65-34 win.
Bogue Chitto takes on Brookhaven in a Saturday night special inBrookhaven’s Sinclair Gym. A pair of varsity games tip off at 6p.m.

“Everyone got a chance to play tonight,” said Bogue Chitto headcoach Christi Terrell.
The Lady ‘Cats (20-1, 7-0) got their first points of the game on aturnover, and never looked back. They held leads of 18-7 after oneperiod, 42-15 at halftime and 64-22 entering the finalstanza.
Earinesheia Dillon led Bogue Chitto with 14 points and 4 steals.Tearon Rogers had 13 points and 8 rebounds. Josie Porter tossed in11 points and dished out a game-high 6 assists. Rheagan Welch had10 points and 4 steals.
The Lady ‘Cats enjoyed a 45-29 rebounding edge; along with a 22-7clip in second chance scoring.
The Lady Bulldogs (1-19, 0-7) were led by Ranecia Winters with agame-high 15 points and 3 assists. Shardee Bridges followed with 10points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 assists.
MSD, coached by Lauren Rushing, committed 25 turnovers, which ledto 34 Bogue Chitto points. The Lady Bulldogs, who dressed only 7players, were down 42-0 in bench scoring.

“We are trying to get ready for district,” said second-year BogueChitto head coach Jeremy Harrell, referring to his team’s divisiongames against Sebastopol and Cathedral next week.
The Bobcats (15-7, 6-1) led from start-to-finish in the 31-pointroute. Dennis Rogers led all scorers with 14 points and 6 rebounds.Emanuel Magee chipped in 10 points and 2 blocked shots. TevinTobias had 6 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 assists. Darrius Martin had 5steals and 2 assists.
Bogue Chitto committed only 12 turnovers, while shooting 49 percent(29 of 59) from the floor. The Bobcats led 38-13 at theintermission break.
Both teams combined for only 11 fouls and 15 free throws.
Coached by Kevin Cronin, the Bulldogs (4-15, 0-7) got 12 points, 13rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals from Tomaz Buckley.
MSD outrebounded Bogue Chitto 38-36, including a 20-14 edge on theoffensive boards.
