Man hurt in barn accident

A Lincoln County native is recovering at a Vicksburg hospitalafter falling through a barn roof and sustaining facial injuriesaround 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Brookhaven’s Wanza McGuffie said her oldest son Jason, 28, washelping a deacon from his church re-roof a barn in Lorman when hefell about 15 feet through a rotten part of the roof.
“He landed on his chin, hitting a crate,” she said.
McGuffie said her son had to have emergency reconstructive surgeryon his chin, jaw and gums. She added there was a lot of damage onthe inside of the mouth as well, and the main concern now ispreventing infection.
McGuffie was appreciative of all the prayers that have been offeredon behalf of Jason. She was also thankful his injuries were notmore severe.
“The Lord’s angels helped him land on the only clear spot on thatbarn floor, in amongst a tractor, tools, etc.” McGuffie said.
Jason McGuffie serves as associate pastor and youth minister atImmanuel Baptist Church in Vicksburg. He has been there almostthree years.
