Funeral services for David Henderson, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.on Saturday, Feb. 19, at Mt. Wade M.B. Church, with burial inHillcrest Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from 1 until 6 p.m. at WilliamsMortuary.

Mr. Henderson, 90, died Feb. 14, 2011, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in Lincoln County on Sept. 14, 1920, to MathisHenderson and Annie Sanders Henderson.

He was a retired truck driver. He also drove for Medicaid after hisretirement. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Mt.Wade M.B. Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, VersieDixon, Robert Henderson and Sylvester Henderson; his sisters,Thelma Rhodes, Oneida Griffin and Bernice Williams.

Survivors are his wife, Lena Mae Henderson, of Brookhaven; his foursons, Thomas Henderson and wife, Helen, of Oakland, Calif., WillieWells of Lumberton, Micheal Butler and wife, Sonya, of Brookhaven,and Dameron Henry, of Brookhaven; his stepson, David Smith andwife, Helen, of Brookhaven; his stepdaughters, Revelia Powell andhusband, DeWitt, and Carolyn Crump, all of Brookhaven; his sisters,Vera “Peggy” Thomas, of Fort Smith, Ark., and Jessie Allen andBessie Poole, both of Chicago, Ill.; a special nephew, PaulHenderson, of Brookhaven; and a host of grandchildren, great andgreat-great-grandchildren, devoted nieces and nephews, otherrelatives and friends.
