Bears divide diamond action

The West Lincoln Bears picked up one win in two games as theyhosted a two-day event with Salem, Enterprise and Sacred Heart. TheBears rolled over the Salem Wildcats 17-0 in three innings Fridaynight and lost Saturday to Sacred Heart 9-6.
West Lincoln (1-1) returns to the baseball diamond today and hoststhe Amite County Trojans for a varsity game only, beginning at 6:30p.m.

Jacob Lea was the winning pitcher for the Bears with 4 strikeoutsand 2 walks. Brad Bergeron absorbed the loss for the Wildcats with1 strikeout and 5 walks.
Jeremy Laird was the offensive leader for the Bears with a home runand a single. Jonathan Buckley contributed a double and a single.Jared Case hit three singles. Hitting safely was HunterFauver.
Maurice Beard’s single was the only hit recorded for Salem.
Sacred Heart 9, West Lincoln 6
Blake Moore was the winning pitcher for the Crusaders with 7strikeouts and one walk. Jared Case took the lost for the Bearswith 11 strikeouts and no walks.
Tyler Moak led the Bears offensive attack with a home run. JacobLea belted a double and a single. Buckley hit three singles. JeremyLaird contributed two singles.
