Teen faces charges in Fri. shooting

A Brookhaven teenager was arrested early Saturday and charged inconnection with a late Friday night shooting on Ole Brook Road,said Police Chief Pap Henderson.
Donovan Crenshaw, 17, of 804 East Washington St., has been chargedwith aggravated assault in the incident that happened around 11:27p.m. Friday. Crenshaw remained in the Lincoln County Jail Saturdayevening, authorities said.
“Under the law, he can be charged as an adult in a felony likethis,” Henderson said.
Henderson said an investigation indicated that a vehicle wastraveling south on Ole Brook Road when Craig Dunbar, ageunavailable, of 900 Williams St., Apt. 81, was struck in the headby a bullet. Dunbar was sitting behind the driver, who was notidentified, and fell across the seat after he was shot, Hendersonsaid.
Dunbar was taken to King’s Daughters Medical Center and laterairlifted to Jackson. Henderson said Dunbar was not hit in thebrain, but a skull fragment was posing a potential danger.
Further information on Dunbar’s condition was not available.
Henderson said the department’s investigation into the shooting isongoing.
Authorities have not been able to interview the victim, but havespoken to a number of witnesses, Henderson said. The chief saidFriday’s incident may have stemmed from a previous altercationabout a week ago in Hazlehurst.
“It seems to be something that was brought to Brookhaven,”Henderson said.
