Bank of Brookhaven marches to Dixie Boys tourney title

Bank of Brookhaven crushed R.B. Wall OilCo. 21-3 Friday night to capture the Lincoln County Dixie BoysBaseball League Tournament Friday night at Exchange Club Park.
After a brief celebration, unbeaten Bank of Brookhaven receivedrecognition as the regular-season champion and the tournamentchampion. R.B. Wall was rewarded with a second place trophy.
At the end of the ceremony, an All-Star Team was announced for the13s and 14s. Due to many of the league’s playeres being involved inother activities, the team was combined into one.
Members of the Lincoln County-based 13-14s All-Star team are JohnColeman, Zach Dickerson, Bryce White, Benard Selman, Connor Quin,David Leyendecker, Daniel Lyle, Peyton Flowers, Noah Rogers, JakeTaylor, Stone Case, Connor Smith and Jordan Nations. The team’shead coach is Bank of Brookhaven’s Christian Johnstone. Theassistant coaches have not been determined.
The Lincoln County All-Star team already has qualified for the StateTournament that will be held at Hattiesburg, starting July 16.There will not be a district tournament as in years past.

Daniel Allen was the winning pitcher for Bank of Brookhaven withtwo strikeout and two walks.
Lee Knapp-Chisolm absorbed the setback for Wall with no strikeoutsand five walks.
Bryce White provided the offensive leadership for Bank ofBrookhaven with a home run, a double and two singles. Benard Selmancontributed a double and a single. Javy Watts belted two singles.Hitting safely were David Leyendecker, Will Moffet and AntonioChristmas.
Limited to just two hits, R.B. Wall Oil Co. was led offensivelywith a double from Lee Knapp-Chisolm. Brady Thompson hitsafely.
