“I’ve had stuff come up missing for about six weeks,” said LarryDavis, owner of Davis Wrecker, LLC.

Davis explained that he hired private surveillance people to watchthe lot for 24 hours a day since last Wednesday. The team foundwhere someone had cut the fence about a week ago, and they havebeen watching the spot since then.

At about 3 a.m. Monday, the subjects came in through the cut fenceand started taking items out of cars.

Around 7 a.m. the suspects left, and Davis’ surveillance peoplecontacted him. He then contacted police with information that someof the stolen property was found in a vehicle parked inside atrailer park on Industrial Park Road near the wrecker yard.

Brookhaven Police Chief Alustra “Pap” Henderson said one suspectwas arrested inside the trailer, one ran from police and one isstill at large. Police caught the suspect who ran from police at atrailer park in Brignall.

“We’re not far enough along in the investigation to reveal thearrested suspects’ identities,” Henderson said.

Davis is confident the case will produce good results.

“Between the local law enforcement and our own surveillance work,we should have what is needed for confessions,” Davis said.

Davis said he decided to hire a private surveillance company towatch the lot after twice contacting the police department.

“Up to the present, stolen items have included some 25 radiators, about 30 car batteries, about 40 stereo systems, speakers, tiresand rims,” Davis said. “They have been cleaning them out.”
