Funeral services for Andrew Tyson Davis, ofMcCall Creek, are 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 30, at Franklin FuneralHome, with burial in Wright’s Chapel Cemetery.

    Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Mr. Davis, 94, died Sept. 27, 2011, at Franklin County MemorialHospital. He was born in the Monroe community in Franklin County onJuly 7, 1917, to Aaron Tyson and Maude Barfoot Davis.

    He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II, andwas an insulation foreman in construction work. He was a member ofMeadville United Methodist Church. 

    Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Katherine HerringDavis; sisters, Barbara Davis and Margueritte Davis; and brothers,Charlie Davis and Jack Davis.

    Survivors are his daughters, Patricia Margueritte Davis Jones andhusband, Larry, of Meadville, Carolyn Lynelle Davis Lindsey andhusband, Rick, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Vanalee Katherine DavisHurst and husband, Gary, of McCall Creek; brother, Quentin Davis;five grandchildren, Oliver Tyson Jones, Cory Matthew Jones, SallieKatherine Hurst, Leigh Elizabeth Hurst and Diana Katherine LindseyHewlett; two great-grandchildren, Hannah Katherine Jones and ZoeKatherine Hewlett; nephew, Charles Davis and wife, Cherry; andspecial by love and marriage, Melanie Kay Smith Jones, MartyMarshall Jones, Dustin Hewlett, Charlotte and Jimmy Jones, Christyand Dave Thornton, and Brad and Kristie Jones andchildren.
