Funeral services for Danny Earl Diggs Sr.,of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 22, at New Hope M.B.Church in Brookhaven, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev.Jerry Earl will be officiating. Williams Mortuary is in charge ofarrangements.

    Visitation is Monday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Mr. Diggs, 63, died Nov. 16, 2011, at Tulane Medical Center in NewOrleans. He was born in Brookhaven on Dec. 12, 1947.

    He was retired as a counselor with the St. Joseph Youth Program inLos Angelos and was a member of New Hope M.B. Church inBrookhaven.

    Preceding him in were his father, Herman Diggs; grandparents,Hubert and Alicia Diggs, J.C. and Lula Mae Coleman and Gothea andMary Earl; niece, Karla Davis; and uncle, Harry Lee Coleman.

    Survivors are his mother, Glossie Mae Earl, of Brookhaven;stepfather, The Rev. E.J. Earl, of Brookhaven; son, Danny EarlDiggs Jr., of New Orleans; grandsons, Ricks Diggs, of New Orleansand Danny Ricko Diggs, of New Orleans; sisters, Brunetta “Paula”Smith, of New Orleans, Diane Harris and husband, Frank, of Pearl,Gloria Jean Combre and husband, Wallace, of New Orleans, and MaeKatherine McDaniel and husband, Bennie, of Jackson; brothers, TheRev. Jerry Earl and wife, Virginia, of Brookhaven, James EdwardEarl and wife, Loretta, of Hammond, La., Stephen Earl and wife,Brenda, of Brookhaven, and Bruce Allen Earl and wife, Jennifer, ofSpringfield, Mass.; uncles, Jackie Lee Coleman and Robert LeeColeman, both of Brookhaven; and many aunts, uncles, nieces,nephews, cousins and other relatives.
