Funeral services for Claude E. Newman, ofBude, are 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 16, at Franklin Funeral Home,with burial in Midway Cemetery in Meadville.

    Visitation is Sunday from 4 until 6 p.m. and Monday from 8 until 10a.m. at the funeral home.

    Mr. Newman, 91, died Jan. 14, 2012, at Franklin County MemorialHospital. He was born in Franklin County on May 5, 1920, to Archieand Mary Murray Newman.

    He was retired from Chevron Inc. and served in the U.S. Navy duringWorld War II. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Bude.

    Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers and adaughter.

    Survivors are his wife, Dorothy Milton Newman; sons, Lloyd Newman,of Thorsby, Ala., and Hilton Murray Jr. and wife, Nell, ofPerkinston; three grandchildren; and fourgreat-grandchildren.
