Funeral services for Clyde M. Smithie, ofJayess, were 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 23, at Topeka Baptist Church inJayess, with burial in Robert’s Memorial Cemetery. Wilson FuneralHome in Monticello was in charge of arrangements.

    Mr. Smithie, 88, died Jan. 21, 2012, at Lawrence County Hospital.He was born in Mississippi on Aug. 1, 1923.
