Various attractions aid community’s reputation

Hobbies, sporting events and otherrecreational pursuits are good for everybody.
The most recent example of that happened last weekend when hundredsof camellia enthusiasts ventured to Brookhaven for the localsociety’s 49th annual show. Visitors from New York and elsewherecame for the show that had more than 2,000 contest entries.
More frequent attractions include high school and other sportingevents at local fields and facilities. Also not to be forgotten arelivestock shows and similar functions at the county’s civiccenter.
While here, visitors stay in local hotels, dine in local eateriesand shop at local retail establishments, some of which themselvesare desired destinations for out-of-towners.
These activities generate sales tax dollars and other revenue thatcan be used to further enhance local offerings.
Hospitable welcomes,beautiful scenery and overall pleasant stays here only enhanceBrookhaven and Lincoln County’s reputation among visitors. Andthat, in turn, bodes well for the future growth of our Homeseeker’sParadise.
