Pauline Guice Fortenberry

Funeral services for Pauline Guice Fortenberry, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m. on Friday, June 22, at Brookhaven Funeral Home on North Jackson Street, with burial in Easthaven Cemetery.

     Visitation is Friday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

     Mrs. Fortenberry, 95, died June 19, 2012, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. She was born in Meadville on July 3, 1916, to John Grantham and Reba Adams Guice.

     She was a retired secretary for the Potter Company and Columbus Lumber Company in Brookhaven. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Brookhaven and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

     Preceding her in death were her parents; husband. W.L. Fortenberry; grandson, James Michael Fortenberry; and son-in-law, Charles James.

     Survivors are her son, Bill Fortenberry, of St. Louis, Mo.; daughters, Rebecca Fortenberry, of Ridgeland, and Carolyn James, of Ruston, La.; sister, Evelyn Ballard, of Ridgeland; two grandchildren, Amanda Fortenberry and Charles James Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Joshua Fortenberry Zotz, Nicholas James and Sydney James; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

     The family would like to express appreciation to special caregiver Alberta Peyton, and to all the caregivers at The Arbor Skilled Nursing Home and Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland.
