Funeral services for Calvin Oliver I, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 10, at Rose Hill M.B. Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Williams Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

     Visitation is Thursday from 1 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home, with the family present from 6 until 7.

     Mr. Oliver, 56, died Aug. 3, 2012, at G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson. He was born in Lincoln County on Oct. 4, 1955.

     He was a 1973 graduate of Brookhaven High School. He attended Copiah-Lincoln Community College and Jackson Sate University. Mr. Oliver was an electrician and self-employed computer technician, and a career retiree with the U.S. Postal Service. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of Second Baptist Church.

     Preceding him in death were his brothers, Henry “Butch” Oliver and Bobby Oliver; and sister, Carolyn Marie Oliver.

     Survivors are his mother, Margaret Oliver Henderson, of Brookhaven; son, Calvin Oliver, and wife, Lakiesha, of Tacoma, Wash.; daughter, Angela Atlantis Oliver, of San Jose, Calif.; brother, Curtis Oliver, of Brookhaven; four grandchildren, Zion Emil Cooper, Eden Soliel Cooper, Jordan Damon Cooper, all of San Jose, Calif., and Sean Quincy Oliver, of Tacoma, Wash.; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
