New ‘Fab Five’ nominees sought
Published 8:00 pm Sunday, August 19, 2012
For the last time in 2012, citizens have a chance to nominate a friend or neighbor who they believe is “fabulous.”
The DAILY LEADER is looking for its “Fab Five” honorees for the newspaper’s Fall edition of FOCUS.
Reader submissions produced an outstanding crop of honorees in the Spring and Summer editions of FOCUS. We expect the high character and quality of featured individuals to continue in the final special section of the year.
What makes a person “fabulous” could be anything from looking out for others through various good deeds to being heavily involved in some other form of charity. Or someone could be “fabulous” by virtue of their doing something else to make the Brookhaven and Lincoln County area a better place.
After publication of the Fall FOCUS, the 15 total “Fab Five” members will be put on a ballot for readers to vote on for our Citizen of the Year for 2012. That person or persons will then be featured in the newspaper edition that will be published the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
Nomination forms are being printed in daily editions of The DAILY LEADER. They can be returned to the newspaper office or emailed to reide@dailyleader.com before Aug. 31.
