Franklin Co. kickers shut out Natchez twice

NATCHEZ — Hoby Mullins scored three goals and the Franklin County Bulldogs collected a 5-0 shutout over rival Natchez, improving their record to 12-0 overall in varsity soccer action.

     In the girls’ game, FCHS beat Natchez 4-0 behind some big saves from goalie Macy Ziskin.

     Franklin High plays host to Loyd Star Friday night in Bude. The girls’ contest will begin at 6, followed by the boys’ game at 7:35.

     Mullins, a junior on the FCHS team, added to his team-high 21 goals scored this season. FCHS erupted for all five goals in the second half, with Mullins’ hat trick leading the way

. Teammates Johnnie Moore and Brendan Beach both scored.

     Senior Trey Bailey collected the win at goalie for the Bulldogs.

     In the girls’ game, saves by Ziskin and goals from Kristen Emory, Brianna Brumfield, Krislyn Kent, and S’edriq Middleton led the Franklin County attack.

     Coaching the Bulldogs is first-year coach Jeff Long.
