Bobcats win in OT; Lady Cats rip St. Al

BOGUE CHITTO – Junior guard Dennis Rogers pumped in a game-high 31 points to lead four players in double figures and the Bogue Chitto Bobcats captured their second win of the season with a 82-76 overtime victory Friday night over the St. Aloysius Flashes in Region 7-1A action in R.L. “Bob” Calhoun Gymnasium.

     In girls’ action, the Lady Cats steam- rolled the Lady Flashes 75-48 as freshman guard Zariah Matthews led the offensive onslaught for BC with 19 points, 6 rebounds, 6 steals and 5 assists.

     Bogue Chitto resumes action Tuesday. They visit Enterprise to battle the Jackets for four games. Junior high action starts at 4 p.m.

     The varsity girls tip off at 6 p.m., followed by the boys.

BC 75, St. Al 48

     The Lady Cats (13-2, 1-0) quickly took care of business in the first half and cruised to a 43-16 halftime lead.

     BC’s Christian Black fueled the flames with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 steals.

     “We started the game off well,” said BC coach Christi Terrell. “The girls played hard and hustled. I was very pleased to give everyone some playing time.”

     Ann Garrison was the top scorer for the Lady Flashes with 20 points. Alli Willis contributed 11 points.

BC 82, St. Al 76, OT

     The Bobcats and Flashes provided an offensive show for their basketball fans.

     Germie Martin netted 17 points to help BC. Zach Perkins provided 15 points and Jeremiah Perkins had 14.

     The Bobcats (2-10, 1-0) are coached by Gareth Sartin.

     Elliot Barley paced the Flashes with a team-high 22 points. Conner Smith and Matthew Foley contributed 17 points apiece.
