Lady Jackets bag two tourney wins

DEXTER – The Enterprise Lady Yellow Jackets won two of three games in Dexter’s Christmas Tournament. The Lady Jackets crushed the Dexter Lady Bulldogs 61-29 in Saturday’s matchup and defeated the Salem Lady Wildcats 60-56 in Friday’s game.
In Thursday results, Enterprise fell to the West Marion Lady Trojans 59-31.
“The girls played really well in the tournament,” said Enterprise coach Jill Nations. “This was a great learning experience to get us ready for district.”
Enterprise 61, Dexter 29
The Lady Jackets (10-9, 0-2) had three players score in double figures. Carley Price led the onslaught with 11 points. Kristen Jergins and Megan Rippy fueled the flames with 10 points apiece.
Tamyra Harvey was the offensive leader for the Lady Bulldogs with 13 points. Denisha Bell provided 10 points.
Enterprise 60, Salem 56 Senior center Veonka Sanders pumped in a game-high 20 points to lead the Lady Jackets. Senior forward Caroleah Brister netted 18 points.
Lucy Puder directed the Lady Wildcats with 18 points. Arial Fortenberry had 14 points.
W. Marion 59, Enterprise 31
Brister was the top scorer for Enterprise with 13 points.
Cilinda Brown paced three Lady Trojans in double figures. She led with a team-high 20 points. Sharell Singletown added 13 points. Cheressa Mitchell had 10.
