NATCHEZ – Guard Madison Warren pumped in 14 points, Mary Claire White grabbed 15 rebounds and the Brookhaven Academy Lady Cougars crushed the Trinity Episcopal Lady Saints 48-25 Tuesday night in District 5-AA basketball action.

In the varsity boys game, Trinity dumped the Cougars 50-46, paced by Garrett Vinson’s 18 points.

The Lady Cougars (8-17, 2-1) roared to a 29-8 halftime lead. Coach Bruce Allsup’s team got 5 rebounds from Anna Smith.

Eight points by Matty Lewis led Trinity in scoring.

The Cougars (18-11, 2-1) got 15 points from Peyton Hood and 14 from Gage Posey, plus 7 rebounds. Will Hickman and Matthew Evans each had 5 rebounds. Evans made 5 assists. Caleb Brown and Posey had 3 assists. Hickman had 5 steals.

Dre McCoy had 13 points and Tanner Cage 10 for the Saints who trailed 23-18 at halftime.
