Funeral services for Ernest Lee Shaw, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 31, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service, with burial in Riverwood Memorial Park.
Visitation is Wednesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Shaw, 74, died Jan. 28, 2013, at his home. He was born in Cuba, Ala. on April 11, 1938, to Clyde Lee Shaw and Eleanor Catlett Shaw.
He was the retired owner of Brookhaven Truck Stop. He was a U.S. Veteran and of the Baptist faith. Mr. Shaw leaves behind many close friends who loved him dearly for his gentle nature and loving heart. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Carolyn Shaw Roberson, of Prattville, Ala.; brother-in-law, Richard Walker, of Cuba, Ala.; and mother-in-law, Lucille Parsons, of Brookhaven.
Survivors are his wife, Dianne Shaw; sons, Scott Shaw and wife, Krystal, of Brookhaven, and Brian Shaw and wife, Lynn, of Bessemer, Ala.; stepsons, Scott Branch and fiancé Bianca Smith, of Brookhaven, and Brookes Branch and wife, Lynn, of Springfield, Va.; daughter, Melanie Shaw and fiancé, Shawn Soileau, of Houston; sister, Jeanette Shaw Walker, of Cuba, Ala.; sister-in-law, Gerri Scott and husband, Jim, of Hunsville, Ala.; brother-in-law, Hayden Parsons and wife, Allawana, of Smithdale; and 10 grandchildren, Jordan, Jessie, Reagan and Annmarie Shaw, Allie Shaw Therrell, Mallory Leggett, and Brittany, Joseph, Brent and Dylan Branch.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
