Lady Wolves raise South Division mark

UTICA – Sixteen points each by Chanta Poole and Jessica Wilson sparked the Co-Lin Lady Wolves to a 68-50 Monday night win over the Hinds Community College Lady Bulldogs.
In the men’s game, Hinds beat Co-Lin 83-70 as Marcus Hurn scored 25 points and Dominique Brown 20.
Co-Lin hosts Pearl River Community College for a South Division twinbill Thursday night, Action starts at 6 p.m., with the women’s game.
The Lady Wolves (19-3, 10-1) are seeded No. 1 I the MACJC State Tournament that starts next week at the home of the South Division men’s champion.
The Wolves (4-18, 2-10) got 22 points from Tim Harrison and 18 from Joseph Cunningham in the South Division loss. Sophomore center Fred Fairman accounted for 13 poins and 6 rebounds.
The Hurns, both 6-foot sophomore guards, are from Meridian. Matthew Hurn scored 17 points in the win.
