A Bogue Chitto woman was among 20 people arrested on drug charges Tuesday in a sweep across the area by law enforcement.

Numerous law enforcement agencies joined the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics in Tuesday’s culmination of a six-month investigation into a drug ring allegedly responsible for drug sales at a McComb shopping center.

Among those arrested was Rebecca Lynn Lang, 29, of 2923 Lee Drive, Bogue Chitto. She was charged with one count each of sale of crack cocaine, conspiracy and child endangerment.

She was released Wednesday on a $75,000 bond.

The child endangerment charge means a child was allegedly present during a drug deal, according to a Bureau of Narcotics press release.

Lang was the only current Lincoln County resident arrested in the operation. Most of the other suspects charged were Pike County residents.

All those arrested Tuesday were initially taken to the Pike County Jail.

According to the press release, authorities believe the suspects arrested are lower- to mid-level drug dealers of heroin, crack cocaine, marijuana and the prescription drugs Xanax and Suboxone.

More arrests are anticipated by law enforcement.
