Brookhaven Academy divides with Wildcats

Tanner Parvin struck out 10 batters and walked 1 in pitching the Brookhaven Academy Cougars to a 6-1 Tuesday night victory against the Silliman Institute (La.) Wildcats. He scattered 9 hits as the Cougars won the second half of the twinbill in Harold Williams Ballpark.

Silliman cruised to a 10-2 victory in the opener.

Brookhaven Academy, coached by Casey Edwards, visits McComb Parklane Academy Saturday for a twinbill, starting at 1 p.m.

Brook 6, Silliman 1

The Wildcats committed 5 errors in the chilly nightcap. Peyton Moore (5K, 1 BB) was the losing pitcher.

At the plate, a double by Parvin and a pair of singles apiece by Steven Williams and J.P. Jackson directed the Cougars. They took a 2-0, first-inning lead and were up 6-1 after 5.

Silliman 10, Brook 2

The Wildcats broke loose for 13 hits, including 8 doubles, in the opener. Mason McKnight (2K, 0BB) was the wining pitcher.

Two doubles by Jordan Talley powered the Wildcats. Logan Milton had 3 hits, including a double.

Williams fanned 4 and walked 1 in a losing cause. Two singles by

Williams and Parvin paced BA’s offensive. Cory Eckhoff doubled.
