Wesson, coached by Jackie Johnson, resumes play Saturday in the Franklin County Tournament. Coach Andrew Redd’s West Lincoln team is at Loyd Star tomorrow for the Lincoln County Tournament.

Two singles apiece by Sarah Robinson and Smith sparked Wesson (1-1) at the plate. Bailey Middleton, Ashton Newman, Taylor Smith, Hanna Brown, Kayla Britt and Macie McQuage helped the Cobras take a 1-0, second-inning lead and score twice more in the fifth.

Micah Redd (0K, 2BB) was the losing pitcher.

The Lady Bears got singles from Redd, Layton Sills, Heather Moak and Karlee Smith.

Wesson prevailed 4-3 in the JV game as Amber Brinson pitched the win.
