Loyd Star defeated Franklin County 5-2 in a Thursday tennis match on the Brookhaven City Courts. The Hornets were directed by Connor Crosby and Natalie Smith in singles.

Franklin County got a big win in mixed doubles as Trivette Leonard and Brianna Brumfield defeated Loyd Star’s Maggie Redd and Reid Butler in a marathon match, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6, (10-8).

Loyd Star, coached by Rhonda Hart, resumes play March 20, at Wesson. Action begins at 3:30 on the Co-Lin Courts.
