Funeral services for Mattie Pearl Jordan of Brookhaven are 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 14, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service, with burial in Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation is Wednesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Jordan, 84, died March 10, 2013 at King’s Daughters Medical Center. She was born in Brookhaven on Feb. 20, 1929 to Versie Boyte and Mary Jane Boyte.
She was a retired hairdresser, as well as owner and operator of Pearl’s Beauty Shop. She was a member of Southway Baptist Church. Mrs. Jordan loved to serve her Lord and her church. She was actively involved with the children’s ministries and supper committee, and she prepared the weekly flower arrangements for Southway.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Survivors are her husband, George E. Jordan; son, Rodney Jordan and wife, Debbie; sister, Betty Jo Kennedy; five grandchildren, Vallery Jordan, Christy and Kevin Blanchard, Jonathan and Angel Jordan, Danielle and Clint Custer and Sheida Youssephzadeh; and seven great-grandchildren, Colby Covington, Lainey Covington, Trysta Jordan, Aubrey Jordan, Aryah Custer, Ayrius DeSherlia and Kameron Custer.
