Lincoln losing liquor revenue

Dear Editor:
I have been reading with interest the letters that those in opposition to the legalization of liquor in the city of Brookhaven have written.
I wonder if anyone truly believes that if you cannot buy liquor or wine in the city that you will not drink it. How naïve!
Those that want it will go where they have to buy it and with them will go their tax dollars. Dollars that would and should stay in Brookhaven.
And what of beer? Is the sale of beer not already legal in the city?
Those that abuse the use of alcohol are going to abuse it whether it is legal or not.
Why not keep the money at home? Maybe Lincoln County should take a look at how much tax revenue flies north and south.
