William ‘Bill’ Strawbridge

Funeral services for William “Bill” Strawbridge of Brookhaven are 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive, with burial with military honors in Easthaven Cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday from noon until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Strawbridge, 77, died May 10, 2013 at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Meadville. He was born in Aberdeen on Jan. 6, 1936 to William Clayton and Reba Laverne (Williams) Strawbridge.

He was the loving husband of Betty Joan (Blaise) Strawbridge. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era, being awarded the Good Conduct Medal and Navy Achievement Medal. After retirement, he worked for Halliburton, the U.S. Postal Service and Southern Rehab. Mr. Strawbridge enjoyed fishing and was well known for the woodworking he had done through the years.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and best friend and brother, Tyson Wayne Strawbridge.

Survivors are his wife of 43 years, Betty Joan (Blaise) Strawbridge; two sons, Rick Strawbridge, and wife, Dianne, of Meadville, and Andy Strawbridge, and wife, Kim, of Natchez; two daughters, Jody Upton, and husband, Brian, of Natchez, and Amy Clark, and husband, Paul, of Brookhaven; and his much-loved grandchildren, Blaise and Nicole Strawbridge and their son, Hayden, Colton Strawbridge, Kaylee and Brandon Sanders, Drew Strawbridge, Claire Upton and Jonah Clark.
