Lillie ‘Moe’ Wilcher

Funeral services for Lillie “Moe” Wilcher of Brookhaven are 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 26, at Alexander Junior High School Auditorium, with burial in Siloam M.B. Church Cemetery. Williams Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Saturday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wilcher, 65, died May 21, 2013 at Countrybrook Living Center. She was born in Lincoln County on Jan. 13, 1947 to Hosea Wilcher Sr. and Selma Wells Wilcher.

She was retired from the Brookhaven School District after 32 years in food service. She was a member of Siloam M.B. Church, where she was a member of the choir.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, James Wilcher and T.C. Wilcher; sister, Mary Nell Owens; and life companion, Albert Vance Sr.

Survivors are her sons, Tracy Wilcher and wife, Shelia, of Springfield, Mass., Avery Wilcher, of Springfield, Mass., and Jerry Wilcher and wife, Stacey, of Brookhaven; daughter, Sandra Perkins and husband, Chris, of Byram; brother, Hosea Wilcher Jr., of Brookhaven; sisters, Dorothy Rice and husband, Willie Rice Sr., of Brookhaven, Yvonne Humphrey and husband, Sam, of Milwaukee, and Marie Butler, of Chicago; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was a special mother to the children of Albert Vance.
