Little did I ever suspect that I would be taking a side, either pro or con, in the issue of alcohol sales in Brookhaven, but we are doing so.

After much thought and prayer, we are supporting the sale of alcohol in Brookhaven. I have spent a good part of my life in Europe, Latin America and Asia, and the serving of alcohol with food is a pleasure enjoyed by those who so desire.

One of the things that I do at this time is to examine persons with alcohol problems for admission and treatment in the State Hospital. Almost without exception, these people have alcohol problems due to the consumption of beer, which as you know is readily available in Brookhaven now!

There is no doubt that alcohol by the drink would give us a different type of restaurant and economic growth in our community.
