A Jayess woman died in a motor vehicle accident Thursday evening after running off the road into an embankment.

Pike County Coroner Percy Pittman said Olivia C. Clark, 52, suffered from multiple blunt force injuries consistent with a vehicle accident. The accident occurred at C.D. Rayborn Road and Woodard Morgan Road in Jayess, he said.

The 2007 Black Nissan apparently was the only vehicle involved in the accident. The car went to the right of the road into an embankment, flipped and hit a light pole.

Pittman said it is unclear at this time what caused Clark’s vehicle to leave the road.
