Funeral services for Jerry Wayne Laird of Hazlehurst are 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, at Brookhaven Funeral Home, Natchez Drive location, with burial in Johnson Grove Church of Christ Cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Laird, 76, died July 1, 2013 at his home. He was born in the Gum Grove community of Lincoln County on March 6, 1937 to Maxie Laird Sr. and Ola Moak Laird.

He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a retired industrial insulator. He also was a retired bus driver for Wesson Attendance Center and a member of Johnson Grove Church of Christ.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Maxie Laird Jr.; and his sister, Laurie Guitreau.

Survivors are his wife of 53 years, Gwen Brown Laird; daughters, Jeri Lynn Laird and Susan Hall and husband, Daryl, all of Hazlehurst; four grandchildren, Brittany Herrington, Chris Blackmon, Jeremy Greer and Austin Laird; and two great-grandchildren, Parker Greer and Georgia Kate Herrington.
