Funeral services for Brenda Gayle Davis Brown, of Jayess, are 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, at Brookhaven Funeral Home with burial in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation was Saturday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ms. Brown, 65, died July 25, 2013, at her home.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Travis and Lottie Mae Baker Davis.
Survivors are her sons, James Allred, of Bogue Chitto, and Michael Travis Allred, of Bogue Chitto; her sister, Janice Reid, and husband, Mitchell, of Jayess; her grandson, Alan Michael Allred; and her special friend, Lee Crumpler.
Sara Maxine Davis
Sara Maxine Davis entered the Gates of Heaven on July 23, 2013, at age 77. She was born in Brookhaven on July 11, 1936, to Mary Louise Gibson and Ted Wallace.
Maxine married her husband, Julius A. Davis in 1951. As the wife of a military service man, they made their home in several states before falling in love with the state of Texas, where she resided for 55 years.
She is survived by her husband, Julius A. Davis, and her daughter, Mary Louise Rodrigues. Her grandchildren include Javier and Shannon Horta, and Garry and Jaclyn Hults. Her great-grandchildren include Izabella Horta, Anthony Haltmar and Alexis Hults. The expectation of triplets to be born to Javier and Shannon in September will add three more great-grandchildren, one of which will bear her name.
She is also survived by several close and dear family members, Mary Jane Hartman, Robert Hue and Stella Wallace, Mitchell and Linda Davis, and Irene Catt, as well as several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held in Monticello at a later date.
