Lincoln County School Board members met briefly Monday to approve resignations and recommendations for certified and non-certified personnel for the 2013-14 school year.

The members approved to advertise for cafeteria personnel, school bus drivers and certified teachers.

Vice president of the school board Ricky Welch asked Superintendent Terry M. Brister about the results of 2012-13 MCT2 test scores and about the number of school days required this school year. Brister said test scores were in but were still unofficial.

“We’ve been looking at the numbers and unofficially, we feel pretty good about the outcome,” Brister said.

Brister announced that in the next school year, Fall Break may be lost and the week of Christmas vacation may be just three days instead of five. He said the number of days required is 187 days for some and 205 days for others.

The next board meeting will be held at the district office, 233 E. Monticello St., Brookhaven, Monday, Aug. 5 at 5 p.m.
