WEST MONROE, La. – Encountering some strong opponents, the Lincoln County American League All-Stars managed to win one game in the Dixie Youth Baseball AA Coach/Pitch Region III World Series at the Biedenham Sports Complex. The Americans defeated Winnsboro, Texas 8-3 for their only win.

The Lincoln Countians lost their rain-delayed tournament opener Saturday to Livingston, Texas, a close 2-0 decision. They also lost to Mississippi state champion Pascagoula-Red 12-3, Shreveport American 12-11 and Manchester, Ga., 6-5 in Bracket B Pool Play.

Pascagoula-Red (5-0) and Shreveport-American (4-1) finished first and second in B Pool. Peachtree Ridge, Ga. (5-0) and Hudson, Texas (3-2) finished 1-2 in A Pool.

The top four finishers advanced to a double-elimination final round to determine the World Series champion.
