Carl L. McKee

Carl L. McKee, 57, of Wesson, passed away Aug. 9, 2013 at his residence. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday at Stringer Family Funeral Services in Hazlehurst. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Stringer Family Chapel, with burial at Beauregard Cemetery.

Mr. McKee was a member of J.M. Wesson Masonic Lodge No. 317 and of William Oliver Chapter No. 176, Order of the Eastern Star. He was a member of Sweetwater Methodist Church on Jackson-Liberty Road. His hobbies included carpentry/woodworking, Cajun cooking, helping people, fishing and working in his shop at home. Mr. McKee worked as an auto mechanic prior to joining the oilfield industry in Louisiana where he worked for 35 years. He retired as an offshore supervisor from Chevron USA in 2006.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Beatrice McKee; wife, Mary McKee; and daughter, Cherry Davis.

He is survived by his beloved companion, Violet Corrales of Wesson; brothers, John B. McKee III of Utica and Harold Hunt of Kenner, La.; sister, Laura Mae of Louisiana; grandchildren, Alan Davis and Crystal Coleman; and great grandchildren, Timothy Coleman, Jordyn-Paige Coleman and Mary Coleman.
