MONTICELLO – Saturday’s Lawrence County Lady Cougars Classic provided plenty of slowpitch softball action for area fans as teams played 4-inning or 1-hour limit games. Each team realized a split, going 1-1.

Lawrence County beat Franklin County 8-0 in the morning opener and lost the finale to Wayne County 5-2.

“We had a lot of people there and it was a good day,” said LCHS coach Meleah Howard. “The gate sold over 200 tickets.”
